This place will give you goosebumps! You will hear shocking stories about everything that happened there. This place is definitely worth a visit, suitable even for a family day out (with older children). Highly recommended.

HIGHLIGHTS

Terezín Museum

The Ghetto Museum opened in 1991 in the building of the former Terezín School. The exhibitions have been arranged with the assistance of former prisoners of the Terezín Ghetto.

Magdeburg Barracks

When the Nazis converted the Terezín military fortress into a prison and Jewish ghetto, they decided to impose a system of self-governance, as they did with other concentration camps and ghettos. It could, therefore, look from the outside like an estate inhabited by contented Jewish families.

The Hidden Synagogue

The walls of “The Hidden Synagogue” in Theresienstadt are unique in their inclusion of passages from the Tachanun.
The Small Fortress – The Small Fortress served as the largest Gestapo prison in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. It was on the other side of the river from the ghetto and operated separately. Around 90,000 people went through it, and 2,600 died there.
